smash!

i have never broken more than a mug in my life so i guess today's accident more than makes of for it. during table tennis training at sunsports in kallang today, i wanted to slide open the glass window (maybe 80cm by 1m). the window was rather high, around my neck level and fully shut, so i had no chance to slide it open by slipping my fingers into the gap. seeing that it wasnt locked, i instinctively decided to slide the window open by friction, meaning by sliding it with my palm pressed on the glass surface, pushing forward and leftwards. then disaster strucked. the window, which obviously wasnt firmly attached to the grooves, started tipping away from me, OUT OF THE BUILDING, once i pushed it forward. i could only hold on to it for a few seconds before the weight became too much and then surreally, it fell slowly away from me. the massive piece of glass smashed into some disused chairs outside the window, surely into hundreds of pieces. and then everybody in the room started LAUGHING. they probably heard my shriek when the window tipped and saw my desperate attempt to save it. but laughing!, perhaps they derived some kind of sadistic pleasure seeing windows smashing into pieces. it was funny in a horrifying, comical way for me. fortunately, i was on the first level and thus did not kill anyone, imagine if it was a hdb glass window, i would have been sued for killer littering.
