5 days in a row

proper lessons begin

monday:

watched 12 minutes of pay it forward for ss.. rather interesting.. for chinese, we got our test back.. i scored 38/50 for the paper and 35/50 for compo.. thats not bad considering it was a surprise one, i havent written chinese in 2 months and the paper was based on sec 1 and sec 2 stuff, not just a few chapters. haha. i rawk

after that, this guy from some tv station came to film us. mr koh was telling us about the course outline and the KI paper and stuff.. then the camera man wanted to film us asking questions. but we just didnt have any questions and nobody wanted to ask questions as that would mean getting filmed. in the end, he had to appoint pple to ask questions.. haha.. rather fake..

q and a session.
it was simply terrifying waiting outside the classroom for my chance to enter and answer question. i think i answered fairly well though.

after that we had psl session. we played this extremely violent game of catching while being linked up. our group had 7 pple and i stood in the middle. during the game, the pple on both sides of the chain somehow decided to go in different directions. guess wad.. being the centre person, i literally got ripped apart. =( i also ended up with some scratches, a bruised left knee and a 6 cm wound on my right arm.. =( =( =(

went for training after that and reached home at 8 plus

tuesday:

we dance round in a ring and suppose
but the secret sits in the middle and knows

diane is in my lit group!! yay =D

went for med society meeting. our agar was horrible.. some parts melted and there was a foul smell. the watery agar even leaked out of the petri dish. YUCKS!

wednesday:

started off with PE.. we ran 2.4km in preparation for our 3.4km marathon.. i am so going to die for that.

miss toh was sick and ms tey came in for ss instead. then we had a bomb drill.. eric and i were talking about happy tree friends all the way to the field. haha.. we stood under the blazing hot sun for like 15 minutes? then the entire school squeezed into the hall. it was super stuffy and hot. i fell asleep just like the rest of the students during the 1 hour plus talk. the speaker didnt seem to notice that no one was actually listening.. haha.. we all cheered when the last slide came up.

missed lit cause of the drill.

went for electives. loan sharks charge 20% interest compounded weekly and 24% interest for credit cards is a "bloody lie" quoted from mr wong.. hahahahaha =D

thursday:

watched parts of mona lisa's smile during ss.. mr lum brought 29 graphic calculators which cost $168 each for us to play with. the calculator has many many functions and can even draw graphs!!

after that, we went to china town for our chinese project. i was actually in grp a. but the debaters had to leave early and therefore they all had to be in grp a too. the chinese teacher simply pushed the last 6 in register number off to grp. HUMPH. i ended up bring the only one in my grp in grp c.. luckily, marjorie was in grp c too. if not i would have cried..

the trip was extrememly fun if not for the weather.. we went for this tea appreciation talk first. after that we walked around china town. lastly, we went to the chinatown heritage center.. it was super super fun exploring the place. nick kept popping up at corners scaring me and making me scream. haha.. we saw the old shophouses pple lived in a long time ago. their rooms were so tiny that besides a bed, nothing much could be squeezed in. the pple were so poor that a room was often shared between 3 pple.. imagine how uncomfortable that is. i felt rather sad for the pple who once lived there. =(

after we were dismissed at 5 something, marjorie and i went back to school for training. we reached late and left early.. haha..

friday:

daniel brought the fish tank to school!! i want to keep starfishes, water snails, prawns and a baby shark if possible. hee =D

1st post

i have a terrible sorethroat

today was a great day.. we went to FMSS (fairfield methodist) early in the morning. the principal, miss lim, was just soo enthusiastic and inspiring. she spoke really really loudly though.. a bit 刺耳 as shannon puts it. haha

after that, we toured around the school. it looked very new and colourful. the main colour was bright red and yellow. honestly, it looked like macdonalds. =P

in all, the trip was really enriching. innovation needs a PURPOSE. to be sucessful, we sometimes need to be relentless in our pursuit. for example, miss lim 'cleared the weeds' once she became the principal of FMSS, she was hated by everyone and there was a 80% turnover in the teachers. however, her school is now fantastic. on the whole, i was impressed with FMSS.

after the trip, we went back to VJ. today is the last day of our 1st innovation week. i really learnt alot, ethnography, metaphors, and changing context.. hee, now i hvae 3 tools.. soon my tool box will fill up!! =D btw, i like the concept of the divergence diamond. haha

as the last activity, all of us had to comment on the week. we had to start with "dear class" and end with "thank you", that was the only rule. it was especially touching hearing mr ho share with us his opinion of our class. i hope we get him for our teacher in the coming innovation weeks!

after that, i rushed to training and but was still 20 minutes late =( i reached home at about 8..

yep.. thats about all, i'll blog off now. bb
