sushi sushi

HAHAHA. ok. moshi moshi!
please laugh

ok, day 1

we checked into our hotel- lake kawaguchi
we ate a japanese meal
we sat japanese style for 5 seconds
we slept on tatami mats

day 2
mt fugi!

it didnt help that i was wearing the jacket i normally wore in class when i was cold, it was probably suitable for 25 degrees. it wasnt waterproof too. and that was the only thing i had against the wind and rain, other than an umbrella which i gave to someone and a VIP cap.

so off we went

3 of my 4 group members were extremely strong, they were constantly right behind the guide who walked very fast.
and so i had to walk extremely fast to catch up with them. that probably kept me warm.

and then at station 5. everybody sort of slowed down. and we lost sight of the people infront who followed the guide.

there were no more trees to shelter us from the rain and wind. we all gathered together to get warm. like a solid, with every molecule vibrating/shivering. someone told me that it was 1.5 degrees and there were snow flakes on someone's jacket.

if we knew that we were on the right track and that the restaurant was 20 minutes away, we would have carried on walking. we thought we were lost and we thought that all that we walked for the past half an hour was wasted as it was the wrong way. also, according to some sign, it was already station 6 and we were supposed to stop at station 5. that made us think that we were walking extra and if we continued we would reach station 7 or 8 which is way out of our means,

fast forward-
there were tears/ calls with j phone but no reception/ 3 torn call list, others wet/ more and more molecules joined us/ colder by just standing there/ vibrated even harder/ we backtrack/ 1st van came/ walked for a bit more/boarded 3rd van/ restaurant

i felt really safe in the restaurant. thank you everybody for drying my hair, taking off my dripping jacket and giving me hot tea. i was soo touched. oh, and thank you daryl for the 'want a hug'. he looked so comforting, smiling and with arms wide open. it was a huge constrast from the desperate, scared and lost atsmosphere at station 5. thank you to ms toh too for reassuring me that m1 would come soon and hugging me although i probably drenched her.

i want to remember this experience as an opportunity to learn more about myself and others. i felt that the cohort really bonded together after this.

if i had the chance, i would hike up mt fugi again.

oh! i want to add that we did a physics experiment on fugi. everybody blew a balloon and hiked up the mountain, due to the smaller pressure, the balloon is suppose to be bigger. the vip students looked as if we were attending a birthday party. hee. my balloon is RED!!!! and it survived the entire hike, i was still clutching on to my red balloon when i reached the restaurant. and im rather sure it grew bigger. =D

iki masho

and the winner of $150 haagen dazs voucher is V11. yay =D

and if u did not notice- i was sadako. muahahaha

day 3/ day 4

the sumo head died and as the sumos are a really small community, all of them were involved in mourning and we didnt go.

the sony builidng is amazing. i made my group walk through all the levels. although someone insisted on heading straight for level 6 and staying there till time was up. we saw the BMW car and our entire group sat in it. ganesh was the driver. and we got the lady there to take a picure of all of us. *smile- snap

there was a clothes section- in sony building?
maybe they contained microchips. haha

all too soon, we left the building.

miraikan was very very fun. there was this board where we could write on with special pens. if you drew a straight line, it would turn into an arrow and shoot away. if u drew a curvy line, a flower would grow on top of it. if u drew a flower, it would grow bigger. so i wrote my name, and my G was spinning around, my T shot away and the M grew bigger and bigger. it was great fun.

i saw a robot on this platform. it advanced towards me when i waved at it. i thought it was because of the sensor. until.. i queued up for this ride beside it. and guess what. when i was inside the ride, i was the robot's eyes and brain. i saw giant faces staring at me and huge hands waving. i could even control the robot's movement. so it wasnt the sensor which made the robot move.

shibuya

some people in my group insisted on spliting up. because all the other groups were doing so, according to them. i refused and one of them was pretty mad.

well, we saw some interesting items, took pictures, bought some.

and the entire group remained together for the whole time. i am proud of that.
